Obituary for Russell "Russ" Dillon

Russell “Russ” Clark Dillon, 40, of Abingdon, Va., lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 30, 1976, in Beckley, WV and was a 1994 graduate of John Battle High School where he was a member of the band. Russ will be remembered for his love of music, traveling and spending time in the outdoors. Russ spent several years working as a chef in various restaurants.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his father, Lewis Clark Dillon.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Dillon of Bristol, Va.; one sister, Jennifer Roe and husband David of Mohawk, Tenn.; two nieces, Tatum Lambert and Grace Roe; and two nephews, Tanner Lambert and Garrett Roe.

The family expresses their gratitude to Corey Pennington, Mike Laughlin and all his friends for the help and support that was shown to Russ during his illness.

A celebration of life gathering will take place Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 2 PM until 4 PM in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel.
