Jean Thomas, 80, of Meadowview, Va., passed away on Friday, June, 23, 2017, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 18, 1937, in Buchanan County, Va., to the late Glenn William Hall and Lula Ruth Baldridge. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, Lauren Baumgardner, Travis Baumgardner and Clinton Cook, two brothers, Bobby Hall and Donald Hall, two sisters, Betty Capps and Polly Holden.
Jean attended Abingdon Church of Christ. She enjoyed her family and had been a bus driver for the Washington County School System for 8 years. She moved from Buchanan County and had lived in the Meadowview area for the past 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Elwood Thomas, Meadowview, Va., four daughters, Linda Clifton and husband Ken of Houston, Tx., Sue Mullins and husband Steve of Bristol, Va., Debbie Baumgardner and husband Mike of Lexington, Ky., and Jeannie Stevens of Bristol, Va., one brother, Harold Hall, seven grandchildren; Chad Mullins, Travis Mullins, Carla Cook, Canaan Stevens, Ashley Stevens, McKenzie Stevens and Steven Clifton, three great grandchildren, Jacob Mullins, Ellison Mullins and Alba Baumgardner.
Visitation for Thelma Jean Thomas will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 in the mausoleum at Greenhills Cemetery in Claypool Hill, Va., with Bill Haywood officiating. The family will meet at the Greenhills Cemetery at 12:45 on Monday. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
