Obituary for
Roy Scott
Roy Scott, 76, of the Smith Creek community, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Roy was a U.S. Army veteran having served in both Korea and Vietnam. He was retired from Andis Wood Products and was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Lena Bott Scott; wife, Nellie Mae Poston Scott; daughter, Lena Renee Birchfield; brothers, Ernest Scott, Tim Scott, Ray Scott and G.T. Scott; and sister, Mary Sue Toon.
Survivors include his children, Mrs. Bryan (Robin) Causby of Linville, NC, and Noelani Scott of Abingdon, Va.; grandchildren, Amanda Renee, William, Andrew and Dustin; great grandchildren, Lincoln and Dominic; sisters, Ruth Flanary of Big Stone Gap, Va., and Charlotte Scott of Abingdon, Va.; and a very special friend, Sue Foster.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Bro. Larry “P.T.” Glover officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard. Cremation will follow the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Andis, Jerry Bott, Sturgill and his grandchildren.
