Obituary for
Audrey Leigh Woodward
Audrey Leigh Woodward, age 45, of Abingdon, Va., was carried on the wings of angels to join our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
Born November 28, 1970, to Raymond and Joyce Woodward, she succumbed to complications after a 26 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. A graduate of Stockbridge High School in Stockbridge, Ga., she was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves.
She was preceded in death by her beloved cat, Chloe; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Beryl Peoples; and paternal grandparents, George and Oleta Woodward.
Survivors include her parents, Raymond and Joyce Woodward of Abingdon, Va.; sisters, Annette Lloyd of Abingdon, Va., Pamela and husband, Wayne Grant of Newnan, Ga., and Ramonda Smoot of Abingdon, Va.; and her beloved cat, Callie. Also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, a great niece and great nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the following, Crystal Baker who helped provide care for almost 10 years, Dr. Ernest Henry, Dr. Roger McSherry, Dr. Steve Morgan, Avery Home Health, Pro Careers, Cooley Medical, Abingdon Ambulance, and all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services for Audrey L. Woodward will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob McCormick officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Frost Funeral Home on Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 12 until 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jesse Ray Smoot, Anthony Smoot, Greg Roberts, Kyle Blevins, Nick Hofmann and Scott Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Grant, Jordan Sullivan and the staff of Abingdon Ambulance Service.
