Mrs. Peggy Joyce Inscore, 67 of Abingdon, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 7, 1944 in Abingdon she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a daughter of the late William Albert Dalton and Maggie Bell Lewis Dalton. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend she will be missed by all who knew her. She attended the River Bend Church.

She is survived by her husband, John C. Inscore of the home; three sons, Michael Inscore of Abingdon, Mark Inscore and wife Rebecca of Abingdon and Daniel Inscore and wife Holly of Johnson City, TN; one daughter, RoseMarie Johnson and husband Mark of Glade Spring; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Hagy of Abingdon and Frances Cox of Bristol, TN; one brother, Randall Dalton of Bristol, VA and numerous friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Frost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Blackwell Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Roger O’Quinn and Rev. Darrell Henley officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
