Rose Evelyn Clear Browning, age 91, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She was born to the late Loomis Luther Clear and Rosa Lee Jarret Clear on June 10, 1926, in Saltville, Va. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Noel Browning; three brothers, Carl Clear, Marvin Clear and Woodrow Clear; and two sisters, Alice Clear and Edith Wright.

Evelyn had lived in Abingdon since a very early age and was a graduate of Bethel High School. She attended Mountain View Baptist Church.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral procession will follow to Forest Hills Memory Gardens for a graveside committal service.
