Delphine Lucille Stevens, 89, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 31, 1928, in the Alvarado community of Washington County, Va., to the late Clarence Albert Smith and Cora Blanche McNeil Smith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Stevens and one brother, Kenneth Smith.

Delphine was a wonderful cook and loved to provide meals for her family and friends. She was retired from the Farm Credit Office in Abingdon and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Smith Wood and husband Don of Abingdon; two brothers, Ralph Smith of Damascus and Dean Smith and wife Jane of Abingdon; one sister-in-law, Joan Smith of Abingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in the Alvarado community.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
