Abingdon, Va.

Arthur McTeer Boyd, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Boyd was born on October 6, 1931 to the late John and Christine Boyd. He enjoyed being outside, working in his flower garden, and doing odd jobs around the house. He was also a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church.

Including his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Kit Boyd; son, Charles Boyd; brother, Ferrell Boyd; and sister, Cleo Boyd.

Survivors include daughter, Ruth Ann Huddleston (Lowell); sister, Dorothy Hawley; three grandchildren, Charles (Connie), Nicholas and David Huddleston; also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Countiss officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Rd, Roanoke, Va. 24017.

The family would like the thank all the physicians, nurses and staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Cancer Center, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Internal Medicine especially Dr. William Baker and Belinda. The family appreciated all the dedication, compassion, and care given to them during his many illnesses.
