Obituary for
Bonnie Jane Lester
Bonnie Jane Lester, age 75, of Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at her home.
She was born September 30, 1942, in Washington County, Va., to the late Elmer and Rosa Testerman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Shelby Hurley and one sister-in-law, Brenda Testerman.
Bonnie was a 1963 graduate of Liberty Hall High School and a lifelong resident of the area. She was a loving wife of 52 years, and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Lester; one son, Michael Lester and wife Susan of Glade Spring, Va.; two grandchildren, Phillip Lester and Nicole Lester both of Meadowview, Va.; three brothers, Carl Testerman and wife Eleanor of Abingdon, Doc Testerman of Glade Spring, Va., and Bill “Willie” Testerman and wife Debbie of Meadowview, Va.; two sisters, Corene Waddell and husband Lee of Rich Valley, Va., and Diane Blevins and husband Rick of Glade Spring, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Charles Hurley of Manquin, Va., and Bobby Lester and wife Barbara of Bell Springs, Va.; one sister-in-law, Judy Smith and husband Benny of Ringgold, Va.; several special nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Home Nursing Company and a special thank you to Dr. William M. Handy for the excellent care that was given to Bonnie.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Tim Norris officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m.
