Lois Hill, 92, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Commonwealth Assisted Living in Abingdon, Va.
Ms. Lois Hill was born May 21, 1925 to the late Fitzhugh Lee and Janie Kiser Candler of Russell County. She was a 6th grade teacher in the Washington Co. School System for 25 years.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Kelly Robert Hill; two brothers, Dr. Paul Candler and Grady Candler; three sisters, Clarice Estes, Madge Greer, and Martha Gilliam; one daughter, Cathy Candler Hill.
Survivors include, two daughters, Betty Jane Hill Adams (Mike) and Rachel G. Hill (Holly); son, Kelly R. Hill Jr.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Paige Adams Lowe (Larry Lee), Michael Farris Adams (Lori), Andrew Hill Adams (Brooke); seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Whitesell.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 1:30 PM at the Emory and Henry United Methodist Church with Rev. David R. Jackson officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital at 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or Emory and Henry United Methodist Church.
