Thelma Jeanette Honaker
Thelma Jeanette Gobble Honaker, 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center.
She was born April 1, 1937, in Russell County, Va., to the late William and Thurs Gobble. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Thelma was retired from Virginia Glove after 30 years of service. She also volunteered at Johnston Memorial Hospital for many years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and being active in various senior citizen groups throughout the area. She was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Danny Honaker; three children, Barbara Jo “B.J.” Sams and husband Mike, Bobby Lee Gobble and Danny Ray Honaker; three grandsons; two granddaughters; several great grandchildren; one brother, Luther Gobble and wife Imogene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Friday, November 17, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Baptist Cemetery at Glade Spring, Va. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
