Latha Lou Carter, age 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior September 11, 2017
Ms. Carter was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Attended Trinity Baptist church.
She is preceded by husband: Bob Carter, Infant daughters: Kimberly and Patricia Harless, mother: Winnie Rogers and father: JC Rogers.
Survivors include, daughters: Bethany Merritt and husband Nathan of Bristol TN , Cynthia Merritt of Bristol VA; Four granddaughters: Alexis Merritt, Amber Mumpower and husband Zackary, Haley Ashely, and Tiffany Boreing and husband Bradley; 4 great grandchildren; sisters: Emma Cook and husband Mike of Texas, Wanda Hayter and husband John of Abingdon, VA; brothers: Charles Rogers and wife Delephene of Abingdon, VA and Larry Rogers of Pittsville, VA; and very special friends Jr and Geneva Odum of Abingdon, VA.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 7 PM at Trinity Baptist Church 24375 Hillandale Rd. Abingdon, VA 24210 with Daryl Watson and Gary Harless officiating. A visitation for friends and family well begin at 6 PM September 14, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Richardsons Ambulance Service of Marion, VA or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
