Imogene Snapp Campbell
Imogene Snapp Campbell, 89, of Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 6, 1927, in Washington County, Va., to the late Charles Gilbert Snapp and Beulah Eades Snapp. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one son, Gilbert Leon Campbell; and one brother, James Alan Snapp.
Imogene was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and a longtime devoted member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Chilhowie, Va. She was a former member of Old Glade Presbyterian Church and was retired from the Washington County School Board after serving as bookkeeper for over 40 years. Imogene was an avid Patrick Henry “Rebel” and Virginia Tech football fan. She loved reading, enjoyed Civil War history and often stated she was born before “her time” referring to the love she had for electronics, computers, etc.
Survivors include two children, Sandra Keele Campbell of Christiansburg, Va., Al’an Dyson and husband Darrell of Meadowview, Va.; five grandchildren, Terrence “Terry” Lester and wife Stephanie, Brittany Campbell Gillespie and husband Trevis, Leann Nunley and husband Jesse, Julian “Blake” Forrester and Alea Moore and husband Spencer; five great grandchildren and two step great granddaughters.
The family will be having a memorial service on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church in Chilhowie, Va., with the Rev. Hank L. Belfield officiating.
