ABINGDON, VIRGINIA

William W. (Bill) Briscoe, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Wellmont Hospice House.

He was born May 31, 1942, in Washington County, Virginia, a son of the late William Jennings Briscoe and Janie Rush Briscoe. He lived his entire life in the Green Spring community. He was a farmer his entire life and loved woodworking, especially making furniture. His family was his number one priority and his love for them was always evident. He was a member of Green Spring Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mollie Knott and Janie Lynn Briscoe.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Judy Hartsock Briscoe of Abingdon; two daughters, Carol Wayne White and husband Mark of Abingdon and Kathy Easterly and husband Gary of Lebanon, VA; one sister, Becky Bohannon of Sevierville, TN; one brother, James (Beau) Briscoe and wife Hanna of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Josh Jessee and wife Mallory, Dakota White, and Jeanette White Buchheit and husband Al; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 7:00 P.M. at Green Spring Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers, Rev. Jon Martin , Rev. Chris Musick, and Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 5:00 P.M. until time of the funeral service. Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Josh Jessee, Dakota White, Lance Jones, Ian Briscoe, Brian Hartsock, and Aaron Buchanan. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Wellmont Hospice House, 1 Medical Park Blvd.,
