Obituary for
Lewis Clark Dillon
Lewis Clark Dillon, 72, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 16, 1945, in Beaver, WV, to the late Charles “Ponzi” and Clarice Hopkins Dillon. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Toby and Jim; and two sisters, Mitzi and Kitty.
He was a 1963 graduate of Shady Springs High School and later attended Beckley College. Clark was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a master scheduler with Ingersoll Rand for many years in West Virginia before being transferred to Virginia in 1984. Clark was an avid bowler and was awarded Bowler of the Year for the Bristol Bowling Association in 2006-2007.
He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 32 years where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary Bucko Dillon; one daughter, Jennifer Roe and husband David of Mohawk, Tenn.; one son, Russ Dillon of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Tatum Lambert of Mohawk, Tenn., Tanner Lambert of Kingsport, Tenn., Grace Roe and Garrett Roe both of Mohawk, Tenn.; one brother, Charles “Fuzz” Dillon of Shady Springs, WV; two sisters, Judy Richards and husband Dick of Daniels, WV, and Jeannie Moore and husband Danny of Beaver, WV; one sister-in-law, Helen Wludyga and husband Casey of Dorset, OH; one brother-in-law, George Bucko and wife Julie of Ashtabula, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Abingdon, Va. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Treadway officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn. for a 10 a.m. committal service with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be Tanner Lambert, Garrett Roe, Chris Moore, Travis Richards, Jonathan Treadway, Jonah Bickmore and Dallas Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Lambert, David Worley, Rick Widener, Gary Turner, Bobby Bickmore, Jed Bickmore, Mikael Colangelo and Anthony Colangelo.
