Edgar Lee Rust, age 85, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 14, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Rust was born April 16, 1932 to the late John Anderson Rust and Rosie Smith Tolliver Rust of Washington Co., VA. Edgar was of the Baptist faith, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and farmed all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Helton Rust; two sons, Wayne Rust and Alice Faye Buchanan of Damascus, VA., Larry and Judy Childress Rust of Abingdon, VA.; one grandson, James Rust and wife Angie of Meadowview, VA.; two great grandchildren, Andy Rust and Brittany Alexander; one great-great grandson, Brandon Alexander.
A graveside service for Edgar Lee Rust will take place Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Bro. Junior Gobble officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jane and Bob Hill, Roger Childress, Scott Childress, Charlie Harmon, and Chris Fletcher.
