Winnie Virginia Williams Rogers, 94, formerly of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, in Bryan, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Williams and Carrie Rush Williams; her husband of 76 years, J.C. Rogers; one grandson, David Rogers; four sisters, and three brothers.

Survivors include one brother, Everett Williams of Bristol, Va.; five children, Latha Carter of Abingdon, Va., Emma Cook and husband, Mike of Bryan, Texas, Charles Rogers and wife Dale of Abingdon, Va., Larry Rogers of Pittsville, Va. and Wanda Hayter and husband John of Abingdon, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Gordon Smith and Pastor Gary Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
