Pastor Ronnie Blevins, age 73, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Oakmont at Gordon Park in Bristol, Va.

He was born February 5, 1944, in Washington County, Va., a son of the late Russell Blevins and Nell Ellis Blevins. He was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and attended Washington County Technical School. He retired as a machinist from Columbus McKinnon with over 40 years of service. Ronnie was a preacher of the gospel for many years and had pastored Trinity Baptist Church for over 27 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Blevins, Carl Blevins, and Ralph Blevins; and three sisters, Louise Eveler, Cloe Goff, and Leona Thompson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Nora Lee Blevins of Meadowview, Va..; one son, Jason Blevins of Rockville, MD; one daughter, Vickie Barr and husband Scott of Damascus, Va.; two brothers, Wade Blevins and wife Sondra of Meadowview, Va., and Ivan Blevins and wife Patricia of Abingdon; one sister, Erma Dye of Glade Spring, Va.; three sisters-in-law, Carol Blevins and Wanda Scott, both of Abingdon, and Shirley Farmer and husband Mike of Johnson City, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Emily Barr, the joy of his life; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Frost Funeral Home Tuesday, July 11, 2017, from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Watson and Brother Butch Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Troy Hinchey, Tyler Hinchey, Wade Blevins, Jr., Keith Trivett, Jordan Watson, and Charlie McCracken. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Trinity Baptist Church, Roy McNew, Mike Farmer, and all area Pastors.
