Blanche Denton Hill
Abingdon, VA
Blanche Denton Hill, 87, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2017 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 19, 1929 to the late Alex and Flossie Vannoy. Blanche was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had spent most of her life in Denton's Valley and Abingdon area where she enjoyed reading, Bible study, quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her family whom she considered "the most precious thing on earth." She was also a member of Berry Creek Baptist Church in Abingdon, VA.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Wofford Denton and her second husband Thomas Hill; three brothers: Curly, Dan and Paul Vannoy; two sisters: Hazel Roberts and Louise Reid.
Blanche is survived by two daughters: Carla Denton and Patricia Minton and husband Lewis; three sons: Paul Denton and wife Kathy, Bill Denton and wife Shirley, John Denton and wife Sara;two sisters: Virginia Stroup and Irene Parks; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A service will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Rick Cuddy and Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Denton Family Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will the grandsons: Billy, Daniel, Brandon and Britt Denton, Garrett and Aaron Minton, and Brock Whaling.
