Obituary for
Bradley Owens, Jr.
Bradley Davis Owens, Jr., 76, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 5, 1940, in Washington County, Va., to the late Bradley Davis Owens, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Counts Owens King. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Shelia Ann Coleman.
He was an avid woodworker, loved golf, bowling and traveling. His greatest joy however came from spending time with his family and his three dogs “Bobbi” “Misty” and “Cookie”. He was a member of Painter Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy Owens of Abingdon, Va.; six children, Kathy Bridges, Suzanne Owens, Tony Owens, Juda Morton, Kathy Williams and James Owens; two brothers, Roger Owens and wife Nancy of Abingdon, Va. and Johnny Owens of Newport News, Va.; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. with Minister Mark Gaminde and Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Interment will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
