Bessie Garnett Warren (Nash)
Abingdon, Va.
Bessie Garnett Warren, age 99, born December 9, 1917, to Issac and Annie Nash, a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and member of Heavenly Rest Church went peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord, April 6, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Milford Warren; infant son, Kenneth Warren; brothers, William, Auther, Henry, John, Ernest and Carl Nash; sisters, Mary McCracken and Louella “Doll” Bott; grandchildren, Jerry Williams, Jessie Barr, Jr. and Debbie Swails; great grandchildren, Chad McCracken and Adam Harmon; and one great-great grandchild, Carey Tyler Anderson.
Surviving family include her daughters, Inez Pruitt, Annie Harmon and Charlie, Elizabeth Robins, Patricia Hewitt and Darlene Lamm and Ben; grandchildren, Loretta McCracken, James Harmon and Susan, Dave Harmon, Nancy Rasnake and Danny, Teresa Shelton and Mike, Steven Carmack and Summer and Channing Carmack; sisters-in-law, Gay Childress, and Ruth and Jean Warren; several great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; loving caregiver, Dana Statzer and her faithful loving pet, Cindy Lou.
Special thanks to Dr. Handy and hospice care, also to all the family and friends that have spent time, sent gifts and prayed for Bessie over the last few years. She lived life to the fullest.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, at Frost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 9, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Bro. Bob Spears and Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.
Pallbearers will be James and Dave Harmon, Brad and Loretta McCracken, Steven and Channing Carmack, Mike and Evan Shelton, Matthew Williams, Darrell Warren and Donis Cook. Honorary pallbearers are Voilet Cunningham, Roger and Alice Childress and Gene and Rose Long.
