Obituary for
Sara Johnson
Sara Ovell Singleton Johnson, age 89, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
She was born on October 27, 1927, to the late Frank and Kate Singleton of Abingdon, Va. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Johnson, Sr. and one son, Ivan Johnson.
She is survived by two children, Sara “Cookie” Harless and husband, Larry E. of Abingdon, Va., and Frank Johnson, Jr. and partner, Lana Dearborn of Northfield, New Hampshire; one grandson, Chad Harless and wife, Elizabeth; two great grandchildren, Hunter Harless and Bailey Harless all of Abingdon, Va.; two brothers, E.G. Singleton and wife, Ossie of Abingdon, Va., and Arthur Singleton of Abingdon, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jarryd Widener.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Hometown Hospice.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Frost Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Leonard Tenney and Rev. Herbert Bailey officiating. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
Pallbearers will be Chad Harless, Hunter Harless, Jarryd Widener, Robert Singleton, Sammy Jackson, Jerry Harless, Jeff Strong and Richard Hodge.
