Condolence: Chub Arnold and I did an article on Bill in our book about The "Saltville Alkali baseball team and baseball in the 30s thru the 60s. What a great guy, what a great smile. Chub said he was an outstanding pitcher and an outstanding man. We gave him a book and he recognized immediately Mountain Home, or, Soldiers Home baseball field in Johnson City. Bill said, " I pitched there" I would have given anything to have known him longer and to have seen him pitch.
