Effie Lee Burke Kinsley, 90, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Wise, Va.

She was born February 2, 1926, in Eccles, WV, to the late S.P. Burke and Grace Arnett Burke. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Curtis Kinsley, Sr.; one son, William Kinsley, Jr.; two brothers, John L. Burke and Garland Burke; and one sister, Nelda Burke.

Effie was retired from the Washington County Public School System after 30 years. She had worked in both the cafeterias at E.B. Stanley Middle School and Watauga Elementary School. Effie loved people and was an avid seamstress, she also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She was a member of Trigg Street Church of God.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Gibson and husband Paul of Norton, Va.; six grandchildren, William Adam Kinsley, Nicholette Culp, Christian Kinsley, Melissa Bolling, Christianna Gibson and Amanda Gibson; eight great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Frost Funeral Home. Family and friends will then gather for a service at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tenn. on Wednesday at 1 p.m., with Rev. James Bolling Sr. officiating. Interment will follow.

Pallbearers will be James Bolling, Tyler Bolling, Eric Bolling, Cameron Johnson, Paul Gibson and Joseph Mullins.
