Obituary for
Glenda Mae Andis
Glenda Mae Andis, 77, of the Smith Creek community of Bristol, Va., passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016.
She was born August 10th, 1939 in Washington County, Va. the daughter of the late Thurman and Pearl Cox. She lived most of her life in the Smith Creek community of Washington County, Va. She was a bookkeeper and retired from Mid-Mountain Foods.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Cox.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, G. H. Andis; two children, Gary (Dianne) and Amy (Mary); three grandchildren, Tony Andis, Mark Andis and Kadin Castle (Amber) and one great grandchild, Damian Castle.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016, and also from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Frost Funeral Home, 250 East Main Street, Abingdon, Va., 24210. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Andis, Amy Andis, Tony Andis, Mark Andis, Woodrow (Rooster) Brewer, Kadin Castle, Blake Andis and Wade Andis.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4825 Trousdale Dr., Ste 220 Nashville, TN 37220.
