Obituary for
Ray Allison
Ray Allison, age 82, of Lebanon, Va., passed away Monday, October 17, 2016, at his home.
He was born March 20, 1934, in Smyth County, Va., a son of the late Claude Allison and Lola Henderson Allison. He lived most of his life in Washington County and Russell County. He was a machinist and retired from Zenith after several years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Gentry.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Allison of Lebanon; two sons, Donnie Allison and wife Cindy of Meadowview, Va., and Mike Allison and fiancé Debbie of Abingdon; one daughter, Lisa Starkey and husband Jimmy of Meadowview, Va.; one brother, Curtis Allison and wife Janis of Hickory, NC; two step-sons, Greg Cook and Johnny Cook and wife Lisa all of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Eric Allison, Santanna Cook, and Margaret Cook; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Virgil and Linda Skeens, Sue Cox, Billy Fields, and Mr. Grady.
The family will receive friends at the Frost Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.
Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Skeens, James Rust, Sam Graybeal, Billy Fields, Gary Boyd, Ronnie Chit-Khin, Jerry Musick, and Bobby Campbell.
