Obituary for
Helen Rose Farmer
Helen Rose Easterly Farmer, age 86, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 12, 1930, in Russell County, Va., a daughter of the late Con C. Easterly and Sadie Robinson Easterly. She moved to the Abingdon area 63 years ago and was employed at Harwood as a supervisor for over 30 years. She was also owner and manager of Helen’s Fashions in Abingdon for over 25 years. She always loved to help ladies with their clothing needs. She was a lovely lady who was a fashionable dresser and never met a stranger. She attended Greendale Chapel.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Farmer; one sister, Dana Kimberlin Farmer; four brothers, Cecil Easterly, John Easterly, Charlie Easterly, and William Edward Easterly.
Survivors include one daughter, Vivian Ann Caudill of Abingdon; one brother, Jake Easterly and wife Betty of Lebanon, Va.; four grandchildren, Ricky Caudill and wife Rhonda, Vickie Hylton and husband Michael, Micky Caudill and wife Julie, and Nicky Caudill; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016, at 7:00 P.M. at Greendale Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 P.M. until time of the funeral service. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M. Pallbearers will be Ricky Caudill, Jacob Caudill, Micky Caudill, Nicky Caudill, Sam Caudill, Luke Caudill, Matthew Hylton, Michael Hylton, and Travis Helton.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dana Statzer and Peggy and George Morrison for their special help and love to Helen.
