Phyllis Diane Almany Medlin, age 69, of Abingdon passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1946, to the late John and Deloris Kessee Almany. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers, Johnny, Bobby, and Jimmy Almany; and one daughter, Teresa Grizzel.
Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Pam Harris and husband, Dru, and Sherri Jobe and husband, Ricky; one son, Michael Smith and wife, Sondra; and two sisters, Peggy Huffmon and husband, John R., and Debbie Snowden and husband, Don. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Ms. Medlin will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016, at High Point Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor David Griffin officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m.
