Obituary for
Harless C. Puckett
Harless C. Puckett, age 68, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 16, 1947, in Russell County, Virginia, a son of the late Frank Puckett and Ruth Helton Puckett. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School and had lived in Washington County, VA for the past 45 years. He worked for Westinghouse for 27 years and retired from Strongwell Corp. after 15 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Bristol VFW Post 6975 and attended Greendale Chapel.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Rasnake.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Donna Puckett of the home; one daughter, Sandra Davenport and husband Travis of Abingdon; one “special” granddaughter, Arianna Davenport of Abingdon; one sister, Geneva Lark and husband Jerry of Lebanon, VA; special nephew, Doug Lark and wife Suzanne of Lebanon, VA; special niece, Janet Musick and husband Charlie Bill of Lebanon, VA; brothers-in-law, Hubert Fulton and wife Judy of Marion, VA, and Dewey Fulton and wife Sarah of Emory, VA; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 8:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until time of the funeral service. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with military honors provided by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Lark, Ronnie Helton, J. J. Camper, Mike Bricker, Bernie Leonard, Curtis Frye, Rick Nutter, and Men of Greendale Chapel. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 A.M. for the graveside service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
