Obituary for Kenneth Dale Fritz

Kenneth Dale Fritz, a life-long resident of Damascus, passed away on May 20, 2016, after a lengthy illness.

He was born on May 8, 1951, to the late Walter and Margaret Fritz of Damascus. He was a graduate of Holston High School and Emory & Henry College. He was best known as an owner and manager of Cowboys General Store,Inc in Damascus. He was a former teacher, employee of Campbell Ford in Abingdon, and was a farmer. His kindness and sincerity endeared him to many friends throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, Jesse Fritz, of Damascus; his brother, Tony Fritz, and his wife, Sara, of Damascus; and his daughter, Alesia Sexton and her husband, John, and their children, Adalynn and Aiden, all of Damascus. Other survivors include a niece, Pamela Allen, and her husband, Greg, of Charlottesville, as well as many cousins.

A Celebration of the Life of Kenny Fritz will be conducted at 7 o’clock P.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Damascus First Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Alderman officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock P.M. until the time of service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be Neal Gwynn, Johnny Henderson, Jack Henderson, Tim Brown, Danny Waters, Eugene Blevins, Bobby Blevins, Tommy Blevins, Ken Nidiffer, Jack Frost, Greg Allen, and Mike Blackburn.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to staffs of Johnston Memorial Hospital, Specialty Select Hospital, and Valley Health Care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Damascus or to the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad.
