Charles "Eddie" Edward Nelson
Charles Edward “Eddie” Nelson, 64, of Abingdon, VA., went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Bristol Regional Medical Center due to illness.
Eddie was born in Belfry KY to Jenny and Frank Nelson. He was raised at Pecco Hollow in Belfry KY where he grew up with many special cousins. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and loved the outdoors, fishing, and gardening. He retired from Bill Gatton Chevrolet/Cadillac in 2013 with nineteen years of service. He was a friend to all and always had a smile on his face.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Annetta Nelson; daughter Allyson (Kris) Dunn of Bristol, VA; a special niece Kimberly (Justin) White of Abingdon, VA. He was PaPaw to Kolton, Jackson, and Kelsie Grace. Mother, Jenny Nelson of Abingdon, VA; two sisters Helen Evans of Abingdon, VA, Marie Ellen (Bob) Fletcher of Abingdon, VA; one brother, George (Linda) Nelson of Toler Ky. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Nelson, his mother and father in laws, Elsie and JL Williamson and brother in law Don Evans.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Eddie’s memory to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 20060 Saturn Dr. Abingdon, VA 24211.
Visitation will begin at 6 P.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with a special service to follow at 7 P.M. Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Brother Billy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
