Obituary for
Josie M. Nunley
Josie M. Nunley, age 68, went to her forever Heavenly home Monday, December 29, 2014, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1946, in Washington County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Arlie Tweed Sr. and Cora Fields Tweed. She lived her entire life in Washington County and was a bus driver for Washington County Schools for many years. She was also a member of Chestnut Grove Community Church and was preceded in death by a sister, Nineen Boyd.
Her love for her grandchildren, children, husband, family and friends will forever remain with those left behind. Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband of 49 years, Billy Nunley of Abingdon; two daughters, Michelle Thayer and husband Kevin of Abingdon and Kim Andis and husband Blake of Abingdon; one son, Anthony Nunley and wife Megan of Abingdon; three sisters, Hettie Sullins and husband Carl of Abingdon, Janice Musick and husband Bundy of Blountville, TN, and Teresa Dupuis and husband David of Carver, Mass.; two brothers, Eugene Tweed and Arlie Tweed, Jr., and wife Gail, all of Abingdon; six grandchildren, Hannah Thayer, Tyler Thayer, Dylan Andis, Kori Andis, Luke Nunley, and Parker Nunley; and several loving In-Laws, friends, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A M. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Counts Cemetery in Brumley Gap with Rev. Donald Thayer and Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 A.M. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Andis, Kevin Thayer, Ronnie Nunley, Keith Nunley, Ken Taylor, and Wade Nunley. At Mrs. Nunley’s request, there will be no formal visitation. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a favorite charity.
