Mrs. L. Louise Young, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Wellmont Hospice House.

She was born December 5, 1934, a daughter to the late William and Pricie Jane Slone. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Evans Young and two brothers, Gary and Cecil Slone.

She had lived in Meadowview since 1994 and was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Young of Bristol, TN; four daughters and sons-in-law, Nadine and Gary Brown of Bristol, TN, Loretta and Rocky DeToma of Richmond, KY, Brenda and Alan Dillon of Meadowview, VA, and Charlotte and Ronald McClanahan of Abingdon, VA; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; six sisters, Pauline Davis of Slate Creek, VA, Bernice Griffey-Estes of Swords Creek, VA, Betty Ratliff of Grundy, VA, Arlene McClanahan of Cedar Bluff, VA, Patricia Stevens of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Marcie Stollings of Maxie, VA; three brothers, James Slone of Slate Creek, VA, Paul Slone and Tommy Slone both of Hurley, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at Frost Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Michael McCoy officiating. Interment will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Sons-in-law will serve as honorary pallbearers.
