Mrs. June A. Viers, age 92, a resident of Abingdon, Virginia passed away on Tuesday. November 20, 2007 at her residence.



She was born in Birchleaf, Virginia the daughter of the late John Henry Anderson and Mallie Owens Anderson. Mrs. Viers was a former resident of Dickenson County, Virginia. She retired as the Post Master in Birchleaf, Virginia after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Sandlick Presbyterian Church in Birchleaf. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Viers; son, Frank Gray Anderson; grandson, Michael Anderson; brothers, Trig Anderson, Claude Anderson, Kelsey Anderson, Corbett Anderson and Jack Anderson; sisters, May Sutherland, Alberta Smith, Fay Owens, Gaynell Fletcher and Ruth Ramelies.



Survivors include two daughters, Kay Viers of Abingdon, Virginia and Judy V. Carter and husband, Ronnie of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Zella King of Orlando, Florida, Mary Kate Gilliam of Taylor, Michigan and Billie Anderson of Richmond, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. June A. Viers will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, November 23, 2007 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dion Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
