Obituary for Nancy H. Yeatts

Nancy H. Yeatts, age 102, a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at Valley Healthcare Center.

She was born July 12, 1910, in Washington County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Daniel L. Hayter and Senah Maiden Hayter. She loved to crochet, grow beautiful flowers and will be remembered for her wonderful cooking. She was the oldest living member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.S. Yeatts; three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her children, Ronald and Jo Ann Yeatts of Kingsport, Tennessee, John and Marie Yeatts of Abingdon and Betty Sue and Wallace Smith, Jr. of Abingdon; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mark, Tonia and Tyler Yeatts of Abingdon, Debbie, Paul and Cody Sisk of Bristol, Virginia, Penny, Tony, Lee and Addison Brewer of Abingdon, Jimmy Yeatts of Napierville, Illinois and Renee, Jim and Ainsley Richmond of Clemmons, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Valley Healthcare Center and to Hospice of Southwest Virginia for the kindness and care shown to their mother.

Funeral services for Nancy H. Yeatts will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Mountain View Baptist Church on Old Saltworks Rd. in Meadowview, Virginia, with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Frost Funeral Home. Friends may also visit anytime at her home.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Deel, Roy Foglesong, Jr., Andrew Hockett, George Hockett, Gary Hutchinson, Doug McCracken, Jonathan Reynolds and Jack Snavely. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Bellamy, James Bellamy, Bill Delp and Harry Minnick.
